Eager to ensure that the redevelopment of the iconic Battersea Power Station site will stand out even during construction, the Battersea Power Station Development Company turned to Octink to bring to life the design concepts for the exterior hoarding, signage and large format banners for this iconic scheme.
Delivered perfectly within just a 4 week build period, the project demanded the very best in project planning and on-site co-ordination. In excess of 500 meters of printed hoarding alone was erected around the power station site boundary incorporating 1.8m high powder-coated feature lettering and 18mm thick fret-cut marine plywood lettering, all of which are lit from above using integrated LED lighting. In addition, four existing billboard sites were re-skinned with high quality large format backlit banners.
This project defines Octink teamwork and capability, with the planning, communication and execution being exceptional. From the high quality digital printing and the fret-cut lettering through to the billboards and light panels – the project at Battersea Power Station is a great example of how we can take a brief and bring that concept to life.
All of the print work for the project was done in-house using our Durst 2.5m wide UV flatbed printer Rho P10 250. Installation was done within three-weeks, with a managed installation team of up to 20 Octink employees on-site every day to ensure that the finished hoarding would exceed the client’s expectations.
