In addition to his work on the Council for the London Chamber of Commerce and as Chairman of Spark!, Octink’s CEO, Will Tyler is also on the judging panel for the Queen’s Awards in the Sustainability Development category. With the entry deadline just under two weeks away, this seemed a good time to highlight what these prestigious awards are all about and encourage our clients and partners to enter.
Bestowed annually by Her Majesty the Queen and announced on her birthday, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise celebrate the best of British business. They recognise businesses that have achieved outstanding commercial success in innovation and international trade, as well as those businesses’ efforts to promote opportunity through social mobility programmes. The category for which Will is on the judging panel – Sustainable Development – recognises companies whose successful products or services have important benefits for the environment, society and the wider economy.
Previous Queen’s Awards for Enterprise winners include small and medium-sized companies, as well as larger businesses. 76% of winners reported that the Award had brought added commercial value to their business.
The deadline to enter the 2017 awards is 2 September 2016. To be eligible to enter, a business or non-profit organisation must demonstrate strong corporate social responsibility and be based in the UK. To find out more about the eligibility criteria or how to enter, click here.
