Summer 2012 event boom
With the expansion of our Events team this year has proved our busiest yet. We have had the pleasure of working alongside some of London’s leading agencies and brands to deliver unforgettable experiences.
Qatar Embassy Olympic House
A Whole New world
From the outset this brief captured the creative minds of Octink. With its bold and innovative designs, striking room layouts and finishes we just knew we had to be involved. Our team worked day and night for a week to transform the labyrinth of rooms at the Savoy House, London into a scene from Aladdin’s cave. Room after room offered something new, exciting and enchanting. The natural flow between areas gave insight into the Qatari world with the use of touchscreen technology, clever lighting and a bucket load of graphics!
Athletes Victory Parade
“What have you done today that makes you feel proud”
This was one of those jobs that instils the feeling every Event Manager craves. The feeling that, for one small moment in History, you made a difference. After months of planning and preparation the day finally came when we could sit back and watch the event unfold.
Octink produced and installed 500sqm of printed biodegradable fabric banners, 88 flags and various vinyl’s to twenty-one 40ft trailers. We also created the main 10m stage in front of the Queen Victoria Memorial.
UPS London 2012 story
Octink were tasked with transforming BAFTA into an unforgettable Olympic experience. With UPS being announced as the official logistics and express delivery supporter of the London 2012 Olympic games this was an opportunity we did not want to miss. BAFTA is renowned for superior service, attention to detail and artistic character, making it the ideal venue for an unforgettable experience.
Using reams upon reams of digital wallpaper Octink created a UPS haven along with stylish design and build elements for that finishing touch.
Youth Sport Trust School Games
To Motivate and Inspire
This was a memorable year for Octink when it comes to the School Games. Having delivered the event for 3 successive years we had the opportunity to hold the 2012 School Games in the London Olympic Venues. Needless to say we jumped at the chance and overcame obstacles that these unique venues beheld.
With 4 months of careful planning and production Octink transformed the 7 Olympic venues into a fantastic sporting backdrop. With the use of digitally printed graphics and a meticulous installation schedule, Octink brought to life this final test event before the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Goodwood Festival of Speed & Revival
Octink worked closely with Goodwood for the 4th year to create the two world’s largest car culture events, Festival of Speed & Revival both held in the pristine grounds of Goodwood House.
At Festival of Speed Octink produced all Sponsor Trackside & Pit lane banners along with Way finding and Informative signage designed especially for those motor sport enthusiasts. Octink also provided high quality Canvas prints for the Top Drivers Club, Supercar and Moving Motor Show areas plus many many more.
Revival takes you back in time to the 1940’s, 50’s & 60’s. Octink produced signage to help give all visitors a chance to leave the “modern world” behind and experience the glamour of motor racing. In 2012 Octink designed an American inspired style sign for Gasoline Ally, a vintage style 1950’s Housing Billboard with Sales Office facia, Plus the Goodwood Market signage including a 27m entrance sign.
Red Bull Cliff Diving
Gunning at the top
Red Bull Cliff diving made its long-awaited debut in Wales, the penultimate stop of the 2012 World Series this year and us here at Octink had the pleasure of working alongside to create a UK branding first. Octink delivered the millimetre critical 27m high platform branding along with way-finding signage and a branded boat!
To top it off we travelled to the Maunsell Forts in Kent and spent the day with Thrill-seeking divers Gary Hunt and Blake Aldridge on a Teaser dive positioning large digitally printed panels to get that perfect photographic shot.
One word to describe this event- Breath-taking!
