Sellar Property Group needed a printed hoarding for one of their development projects in Central London. They worked with the agency Wordsearch, who Octink have a long history with. Naturally, because of our extensive work with Advertising Hoardings and large format hoarding graphics for building sites, we were approached for the printed hoarding panels and installation.
This project was slightly different from our other Construction Site Hoarding installations as the site was opposite Paddington Station. Obviously, this is a great place for hoarding projects. Printing and installing eye-catching graphics in an area of high public footfall is a great boost for any brand, connecting Sellar with real people and making them a community name. However, it also provided us with some challenges. Planning permissions were tight. We had to get installation permits from Westminster Council, the hospital, traffic management teams and even a bus stop suspension! Because of the disruption to the area, we were given just one day to install two hoardings.
The hoarding graphics were printed onto Octink's aluminium composite panels. In detail, these 3mm thick panels are both strong and lightweight, and provide a perfect substrate for creating show-stopping hoardings. They were printed on our Durst Rho P10 250 wide format printer, which matches high quality printing with incredible speed. We produce all our printed site hoardings on this machine. After this, Octink provide a range of laminating solutions to keep hoarding panels looking their best, including anti-graffiti laminate. The clients went with a classy gloss seal solution.
Next came installation. From start to finish we were given one day over the weekend to install both hoardings on this site. This meant we used five installation teams to complete the job on time. To our expert installers, who balance expertise with a paramount focus on health and safety, this was a no trouble.
The end result was a truly eye-catching hoarding, opposite one of the busiest commuter stations in the country.
